Next installment. This is actually the first list that I started and got me going with the same process when dealing with the other series' notes. Everything's out of order timeline-wise. Going to leave this one public like the FMA one and plan to fix up the short-hand writing later. Last note, beware of the capslock key when typing.

c404 - Kisame is shown the true identity/face of madara, after he reveals himself as not-tobi, the mizukage and ur leader.

-the venus fly trap guy from akatsuki knew who madara/tobi was all along. been his right-hand man or some such

     - naruto is referred to as the "destined child" by tsunade and the great head of the hermit toads of myouboku mountain--fukasaku. fukasaku is mentioned as jiraiya's mentor (taught him hermit-style ninjutsu)

-fukasaku-sama comes to confirm/tell naru of jiraiya's death

     - suigetsu attacks kisame for his sword, the samehada; it's been his whole fucking goal and teh reason why he joined up with sasu in the first place. madara intervenes by telling sasu to keep his bitches in line. sasuke allows suigetsu to do what he wants, but informs him that he's too weak to take kisame down, as he is, anyways. suigetsu sits down, kisame is intrigued by the hinted "yet"

     - madara moans about half of akatsuki having been killed off and decides that he's going to combo sasu's "hawk" and his "akatsuki". goal's still the same: capture the tailed beasts for their chakra and share them amongst themselves. 7/9 have been conquered by the akastuki alone. the remaining two are to be hunted down. 8 will fall under sasuke's task-wrought hand and 9/kyuubi/naruto will be handeled by madara, out of consideration to sasu's fee~lings, whoa-wo-o-feeelings

     - hashirama senju is said to have had a few of the jinchuuriki under his control when he ruled. he split 'em up amongst the five countries to provide balance. they are and were weapons

-turns out madara had the hots for sasuke like orochimaru had since day one. "the most important thing.. was to make sasuke mine."

c403 - remember that time when itachi called out to naruto "hey, bitch"? no? well, he singled out naruto with a genjutsu/illusion (the black crows) and asks him what he'd do if he had to choose between konoha and sasuke. naruto then does the stupid thing and is all "pfft. i'd save both, 'course". main point being .. itachi then zaps naruto with a black smudge in an oral way, via mouth, and says that he's given naru a portion of his power and that he hopes naru won't ever have draw from it

     - sasuke remembers itachi was crying when he was slaying his clan

     - sasu plans on reviving/repopulating his clan instead of crushing its existance as itachi had planned/been ordered to do. this means some baby making music will be in dire need if there's only sasuke and madara left

       -oh god .. mpreg?!!

-death to madara! sasuke is all that's left. who are the women to help him revive the clan? not only that, but wwe know that the Hyuuga clan and its powers came into existance because not only were they originally only Uchiha members, but they were Uchiha members who bedded women outside of the clan. if outside breeding birthed the hyuugas and their byaku eyes, then depending on the female partner(s), we'd have another or more clans introduced into the konoha circle of family compounds. (sasukexhinata - cousin-inbreeding reestablishment of the clan or a cancellin out of ninja powers due to to conflicting eyes? would the stronger eyes--the uchiha sharingan-- snuff out the hyuuga eyes?a)think on it. if that was so and sasuke bedded every female in konoha, not only would almost evryone in the country risk inbreeding, but the very aim of wiping out the clan would be snuffed out ironically. more people of the defeated/enemy clan would be present than the wining not-so-foreign clan of the senju.

c402 - we learn that before Itachi died, before he poked Sasuke in the forehead and transfered over his protection/power, he whispered something to sasuke .. what he said wasn't clarified.

     - sasuke mourns his brother's passing, teams up with Madara and tells his crew that their name will no longer be "Hebi"/"Snake" but "Hawk. He then states that Hawk's only objective is the destruction of the leaf village; to take on the remainders of Konoha is the last burden he can wage war for as one of the last remaining Uchihas.

     - Sasuke activates his Sharingan and his eyes are completely different pinwheels. Has he obtained the Mangekyou Sharingan eyes by killing Itachi?

mokton ninjutsu -- the first hokage's, hirishima senju's blood ability. only he was able to replicate this wood tecnique that combined the efforts of water and earth until orochimaru tampered with 60 baby nin's DNA and Yamato, the only one to survive, was able to produce the wood technique. OHFUCK. PLOT HOLE: IF WE GO BY WHAT C399 HAD TO SAY (HOW ONLY THE UCHIHA CAN CONTROL KYUUBI) HOW DOES THAT RELATE TO HOW YAMATO IS SPECIFICALLY ASSIGNED AS THE CAPTAIN FOR TEAM KAKASHI BECAUSE HIS WOOD ABILITIES ALLOW HIM TO CONTROL THE KYUUBI/NARUTO? WHEN NARUTO FOCUSES ON PERFECTing THAT LEAF CUTTING TECHNIQUE WHEN HE FIRST LEARNED OF HIS CHAKRA NATURE AND USED HIS CLONES (NARUTO:SHIPPUDEN recent eps) YAMATO HAS TO SIT IN A CIRCLE AND THRUST HIS PALM OUT WITH A SIGIL, READY TO SUPPRESS THE KYUUBI IF NEED BE, RIGHT? WELL, IS IT BECAUSE KAKASHI WAS ALSO THERE AND HAD THIS OFUDA THAT SPECIFICALLY LOCKS KYUUBI'S CHAKRA IN, OR IS IT BECAUSE OF YAMATO'S ALTERED BLOOD ABILITY? IF THAT'S SO, AND WE LOOK AT IT BECAUSE OFTEH WOOD TECNHIQUE, THEN IT WOULD CONFLICT WITH WHAT MADARA REVEALED. THIS WOULD MEAN HIRISHIMA (WOOD) WAS JUST AS ABLE TO SUPRESS KYUUBI AS MADARA (SHARINGAN) WAS.

c399 - naruto is confirmed as being 16.

     - alright, history of the ninja clans time: the Senju Clan and the Uchiha clan were such rivals that if one country hired Uchiha, then the other had to hire Senju. As they fought, the Uchihas, Madara specifically, became well-known.

     - How Madara came to possess the Mangekyou Sharigan: At this time, all were searching for certain skills to secure that the next time Senju fought Uchiha in battle, Uchiha would win. As it was, the Mangekyou eyes were the only attainable way, and Madara's brother understood this. Thus, as the climax of their miniature wars, Madara's brother willingly gave his eyes (rendering him eternally blind) as a sacrifice worthy of saving their clan. Madara attained power meant for strength to protect his clan and a reputation--brought on by fame, wherin this fame called for intruding attention from other clans now aware of this fine piece of land and haughty enough to challenge themselves by going against the Uchiha, effectively meaning the clan was getting it from all sides, wearing down their people--enough to keep it in its elite position. Before he was ever able to use them against Senju, Senju offered a peace treaty, and his clan, as tired as it was for fighting for years (decades?) bed Madara to accept it. As he was the head of the clan, and represented their voices, he could not refuse. He was pissed and could see that this was a step away from the disbanning/disgrace/"extermination" of his crew. He became the only one to oppose Hashirama from being the Hokage, as this would mean his people would become Senju's lapdogs."..Where was the hatred we'd held for eachother? What had my brother sacrificed himself for?!"

     - How the nations came to be: Shortly after the alliance of Senju and Uchiha in the country of Konohagakure, an alliance between Konohagakure and the Land of Fire came into existance, as Fire wanted help in protection/control of their own providence. What followed was a system of one village per country, as it decreased the level of fighting over time now that there was order and less clans going against one another for land in their own miniature countries. = "era of peace"

     - The Valley of the End incident: Hashirama was elected by Konohagakure {Wind Nation, Village of the Wind, Leaf Village} and the Fire Nation. Uchiha's name (prestigous, as it was) was dwindling and becoming the background/white noise = "loss of supremacy". So, Madara elected himself for the position of Hokage, however his people did not support him and would not go against Hashirama, as they believed Madara, if he was in this position of power, would seek to fight with Senju/other clans once more, as he had proven to be battle-driven at the time of the alliance. They saw him as being power-hungry and cruel as most gossiped that he had stolen his brother's eyes without consent. His own people despised him, thought him greedy, and that his desire for power outranked his need for his clan's safety. So he left his clan and wandered until he appeared once more to challenge Hashirama. What followed was Hashirama winning @ the valley. Kyuubi then attacked Konoha. Everyone thought Madara dead and never mentioned him in the history/founding of Konoha, thus his name only lived on through his clan's scrolls.

     - ANBU/ segregation of the Uchiha: "wanting to make sure another traitor like" Madara "never arose, Hashirama's younger brother, the second Hokage" formed the Konoha military police = ANBU. The Uchiha were placed as the heads and soldiers. ANBU meant to distance the Uchiha from governing the village by staying in the shadows, and as they all had to record their actions in the military logs, this kept a tight surveillance and hold on the clan through a veiled covering. Few Uchiha, finally wise to this ploy brought on by the Konoha officials--now the third Hokage {Sandaime} and his officials (Danzo, Homura, Koharu)--set in play a rebellion that was too late to set into motion, as their movements were too easily read, for Konoha has/had been suspicious of them. They were watched by Konoha's own Black Ops (not remenants of the Senju Clan, but Danzo's men) and stuffed into their own enclosed section of Konoha. Only Sandaime voiced his "dissent", yet he was seemingly silenced by his officials.

     - Kyuubi's {The Nine-Tailed Fox} attack on Konoha: "Uchiha's powers are the only thing that can control Kyuubi" as has been recorded in that Madara was the one to step in to suppress Kyuubi, allowing Yondaime to seal it inside Naruto. As Uchiha presented that he could control Kyuubi, in Konoha's eyes, Madara has sicced Kyuubi on the village on purpose. However, it wasn't a plan of Madara's for revenge or to make his returning self look useful, yet it was taken in as such. Therefore, Konoha, ever more suspicious, selected a man of the Uchiha clan as one to spy on his own men and report back to the officials. This order could not be disregarded as Konoha was top dog and their ruling stated loyalty to the govrnment before the clan. Itachi was, as you can infer, this man. He brought news back that Uchiha were planning to rebel against Konoha and the three officials + 3rd Hokage ordered Itachi to kill the whole of his clan and brotherin.

-However, all this info. was told from Madara-->Sasuke. Perhaps Madara's view is misdirected/falsely set/not exactly the truth, for this is his own perception. Could this story just be set in place to lure Sasuke over to his side as an ally, seeing as how they are the two remaining Uchihas and the most powerful? Is this just the "Bad Guy" luring in a comrade or the truth?

only ones who know of the truth/purpose of itachi: danzo, the 3rd hokage and his two advisors--homura and koharu. truth=itachi was ordered by the konoha government/elite/hokage to kills his clan. in that sense he became a loyal soldier of sacrifice to his village and his people. he took the fall, was shunned as a missing-nin for teh rest of his life, was sent into an undercover thing to live it out, meaning he had to channel into akastuki. so the itachi sasuke knew as a kid was real and nice and cool and everything an older brother should be. Yes, he lied to sasuke by telling him his fondess was a front in order to experiment or that he felt no endearment towards him at all. itachi was instructed to kill, so he threw his life away and killed those in his previous positioning in life to move forward as a warrior ninja would do in the time of war. he left himself behind and became a killer to stay as an obedient soldier.

-so, about six months after he joined ANBU is when it seems he recieved the orders to watch and report on his own clan by the council members. You see this in c222, when Itachi's ANBU/ROOT members noticed that his behavior was abnormal when he didn't show up to a meeting as well as Uchiha Shisui. This was also the night/instance where Itachi took Shisui's life, (and gained his Mangekou eyes). So, Itachi got orders from Danzou and crew, then killed Shishui, stuffed his body in the Nakano river, blanketing it as a suicide, which Sasuke overheard Itachi being questioned about. Itachi was pissed and bemoaning/talking shit about the pride/name of the Uchiha Clan. Itachi was about to be arrested for he was under the rightful suspicion of having killed Shisui, then he apologized and his father, being head of the Uchiha police, let him off, as Itachi was aware he would do.

80 years ago there was war and ninjas were nothing but armed militia/soldiers that were brought out as the aces in common battle. clans hired them to fight for their countries as stand-in mercinaries. the most feared/powerful/sought after ninja clans were the uchicha clan and the senju clan of the forest. soon it came to be madara uchiha vs. hashirama senju, each a leader of his own clan. hashirama = 1st hokage of konoha, as he was the winner/founder and became an admired warrior, even by madara's enamored eyes

how about itachi is a "double agent" sent in undercover as one of the bad guys. he didn't really kill his whole clan. pshaw, it was madara for greedy reasons (only he could be the most powerful, pureblood, eldest uchiha standing/left) and itachi was ordered to take the blame for it all and to become a "bad guy" by joining up with Akatsuki. the Snape (HP) of Naruto. = PLOT BUNNY: MADARA KILLED EVERYONE DEAD AND ITACHI WAS ISNTRUCTED TO BE THE FALL-GUY; A PLETHORA OF CONSPIRACIES MEANT TO BE CARRIED UNTO DEATH

At Itachi's death, at the moment he pokes Sasuke's forehead he transfers over the Ameratsu ability, allowing Sasuke's eyes to evolve and to have an awakening reaction at the sight of other Sharingan eyes. In this way, Madara explains, Itachi was protecting sasuke even to his death. Think on it, he gave sasuke motivation to become stronger and then passes him a saftey blanket to keep madara away from him at his death. the ameratsu serves as a deterrent and keeps madara from using his mangeyou sharigan from forcing sasuke to speak truthfully to him. itachi made sure sasuke would never have to bend to the will and control of itachi. however, as long as sasuke does not directly look into his eyes, ameratsu is not switched on and itachi is able to hold sway over sasuke as long as he listens to his voice. he proves this by forcing/suggesting sasuke to recall images of itachi from his past while tapping into his sharingan (c398)

sasuke kills itachi. sasuke falls unconscious and madara uchiha comes to pick him up to heal him while the venus fly trap guy from akatsuki disposes of itachi's corpse. naruto and co. are obviously late in retrieving sasuke again, marking it as the third time naruto failed.

When Itachi summons his creature by way of Susano'o, his beast pulls out the Sword of Totsuka = Sakegari's Katana. It carries sealing powers and anything it pierces is trapped in a dream-like gengutsu for eternity. It is said to be the ultimate counter to the Sword of Kusanagi. This sword, is used by Itachi to seal Orochimaru forever. Yayz, Itacho FTW. Get rid of the annoying snake blemish that was posessing Sasuke.

Sasuke creates a technique - Kirin which calls up natural electricity and he transfers that thunder into the form of a beast. He also has Katon Gouryuuka no Justu ("Great Dragon Fire"), which is an evolved form of the Katon Goukakyuu no jutsu ("Fire Ball"). It seems the price was well worth it for this malignant ability allowed Madara Uchiha to obtain the control over a tamed Kyuubi. Madara Uchiha is also to have been confirmed to be Itachi's mentor and helped Itachi wipe out the whole of the Uchiha Clan, side from themselves and Sasuke.

c383, Kiraiya supposedly dead. We also learn that Jiraiya inadvertendly named Naruto and was dubbed Naruto's godfather. Minato read of a story that Jiraiya wrote (a story modled after Jiraiya himself, stating that a ninja's worth is measured by his enduring spirit) and he liked the name of the protoganist. Oh, Kushins has some long ass red hair .. down to her calves. Horrible ninja practicality, I say.

Also, think man. This whole "destined child" crap that Jiraiya was told in a prophecy could *gasp* apply to Naruto, could it not? Don't be fooled by the vail of distruction Pain was balmed you over with.

As of c377, the Ultimate Rasengan does exist, courteousy of Jiraiya. Jiraiya has the suspicion that he summoned Kyuubi to Konoha to strike 15-16 years ago and will do it again, for Madara is the only one capable of doing so.

Madara Uchiha = founder of the Uchiha Clan, Leader of Akitsuki, defeated the First Hokage at the Valley of The End (which was only named so after that battle between himself and the First)[ironic reference cast on the battle between Sasuke Uchiha and Uzumaki Naruto on the same grounds, quite possibly the strongest of their respective generations, just as the First and Madara were], believed to be dead for he is ancient, possible summoner/controller of Kyuubi

Kyuubi's chakra was split in two, yet Only the Yang chakra was sealed inside Naruto by Minato using the Shiki Fuujin. Therefore meaning, that the Yin part (pure white, duh) that is currently Naruto, originally belonged to Kyuubi. He would not have astounding shinobi power otherwise. Another duh, please.

Minato Namikaze = former Yondaime of Konohagakure, Naruto's father, blond hair, blue-eyed, kind, determined

Uzumaki Kushina = formerly of the Whirpool country, Naruto's mother, red hair, constant talker, tomboyish demeanor

Naruto has the power and physical looks/resemblance of his father, and the character of his mother. Naruto's personality and ninjutsu style are exactly like his mother's.

Jiraya was taught by the third hokage, first taught Minato, then Konan, Yuhito, Nagato and then Naruto. Jiraiya would, if he ever did, refer to Namikaze as his son and Naruto as his grandson, or at the very least, his godfather.

Kakashi is the "given" for next-in-line Hokage. Naruto is presummed to follow. However, if Naruto were to become the next first, he would be entitled Rukudaime Hokage.

Shikamaru, Ino, and Choji are the second generation of the "Ino-Shika-Cho" Trio, their fathers having been on a team when they were young. As such, the three get along very well. After Asuma's death in Part II, the three stay together and keep the name of "Team 10", though they now are the only team of their generation that function without a leader.

Up until the third-tailed state, Naruto is said to be in control. In Naruto's four-tailed state, the chakra shield is intense enough to burn others and act as a potent poison and the Kyuubi is almost at full control over Naruto's actions. In his four-tailed state, the demon fox's chakra is so intense that it constantly burns Naruto's skin, causing him to bleed from every pore. This causes his blood to mix with the demon fox's chakra, creating a red chakra shield.

"When Naruto completely loses control and grows four chakra "tails" the demon fox's personality takes control. His body is completely covered in the fox's chakra to a point where he looks like a miniature demon fox as his body acts like a skeleton for it. Because his body is completely covered in the fox's chakra, it is constantly destroying and healing his skin, therefore shortening his lifespan."

"Even without directly drawing upon it, a small amount of the demon fox's chakra is always mixed with his own. His body instinctively rejects the bulk of it due to the damage it would cause. Ebisu implies that Naruto's poor chakra control stems from this, as a portion of his chakra is used to reject the overwhelming fox chakra." "If Naruto musters enough of the fox's chakra, a chakra shield is summoned. This shield is capable of acting on its own as a separate entity, making it difficult to predict Naruto's movements, can stretch to many sizes and lengths, allows Naruto to attack opponents from a distance. Additionally, Naruto can use it to create waves of concentrated chakra to repel opponents."

"According to Kakashi, Naruto's regular chakra level is about twice that of Kakashi's own." That is only Naruto's side of the chakra split from Kyuubi. Then we can look in and say that if Naruto has half of Kyuubi's chakra, and even then if Kyuubi's chakra is combined with a leak of his own power -now in the possesion of Naruto- then that means Kakshi is really fucking weak. For all the praise the "Copy Ninja" gets for having one Sharingan eye -Obito's- he blows in the world of powah. Hard-core.

Naruto can perform Rasengan single-handed, come Naruto Shippuden arc, but prefers using a Shadow Clone. The Great Ball Rasengan, an unstable but a level up in power compaired to its predecessor, requires a Shadow Clone plus the original Naruto. Then the Wind Release Rasengan, sometimes in the form of a giant shiruken, tops both. "This jutsu is revealed to be a combination of his elemental chakra and the Rasengan, which the Fourth Hokage had created expressly for that purpose. However, he could not manage to combine the two before his death. After much training and a few shortcuts inspired by Kakashi, Naruto creates the Wind Release: Rasengan, a much more powerful version of the original. The jutsu is capable of producing a massive crater beneath Naruto. Despite the great power of the technique, Yamato confirms that it is still only about halfway finished. Even only half-finished, Naruto's control over the technique is finely-tuned, allowing him to manipulate the wind chakra into various shapes, such as a shuriken in Wind Release: Spiraling Shuriken. The jutsu is capable of damaging every cell in the opponent's body. Such is its power that Tsunade likens the effect to poison, stating plainly how concentrated the effect is. Unfortunately, Naruto's arm suffers nearly the same damage, and the technique is only to be used as a last resort."

O N E M A N G A F O R U M

Madara, c399:

"Madara is only telling Sasuke half-truths. The fact that the Nine-tailed Kyuubi inside of Naruto knows Madara Uchiha should be proof enough of this."--WraithX959

"Didn't he say that he helped Itachi kill the Uchiha clan? <lj:music>Eduard Lalo - "Symphonie Espagnole, Op. 21, Movement 1"</lj:music>

Almost-current manga (up to c83) and anime (past ep. 51 and The Conqueror of Shamballa movie, not counting the OVAs) notes alike. Been debating posting my notes or not for a while, due to the fact that the proper punctuation is non-existant and for my plans to use them as writing prompts eventually; also didn't want to spoil anyone nor are there any image assertions embdedded (which'll be done later) to back up as nifty evidence slots. Long list is long, with direct chapter/page references and short-hand style notes = we're all going to assume we know who each character is. Some paragraphs are quite confusing, even to myself when reading them over again. Have a list of this same nature for almost every fandom; who knows when they'll be paid the same attention to as this one though. Lol, wonder what the word limit is here.

episode 40 - Rose is found to be mute; implied rape and/or torture for 3 days by military unit, which might, in turn, explain how Rose has a child.

-The snake chimera chick (Marta) gets knifed by the Fueher (Pride) after crawling inside Alphonse and telling Al of who the Fueher is. The Fueher simply lowers his mighty blade in an opening crevice at the area Al's helmet rests and stabs the woman once. The scene ends with Al crouched on the floor holding his ribcage as the woman's body bleeds (to death) and Al is covered in her blood. Run with the tramuatic experience that is rare in itself for how many empty suits of armor are bonded with fragments of a soul and a person actually feels them dying inside them?--barring those characters that share a body with another person. How does he pull her out? If he can't transmute her or take his body apart himself, who does he confide in what happened and ask to remove her out of his body? It can't have possibly been Ed, for he was away in Leor .. Perhaps Armstrong? **EDIT: It seems that Roy Mustang's team assisted Alphonse in the following epside.

Not only are the fundamental laws of equivalent exchange skewered and also fundamentally logical, but there are two worlds the law of equivalent exchange does and does not apply to. The energy that is the make-up of the combination of science and magic that is known as alchemy is the same energy that derives and is redirected through one world to another. As the Philosopher's Stone demands countless lives (notched up to 7, 000 per acknowledged stone) in the realm of alchemy, millions of lives are supplied in the wars brought on by the other world, our world that is made up of science and technology. The equivalent ratio is balanced on the fact that each person holds a gate within themselves that those who operate alchemic thrusts can only acquire these blended talents due to the war and lives brought on by the suffering of another world. The maytr world, which is the focal point to supporting the alchemic one if FMA, is a world that blankets the one strife with the task of maintaining "balance" and upholding the balance of equivalent exchange, when in fact, that fundamental that the alchemic world bases itself on is utter bullshit; there has never been a balance since the parallel world's originality. In this sense, the alchemic state is one that has blanketed itself in the lives of millions with and without the knowledge that their very way of existence is due to the slaughter of their parallel counterparts; counterparts, whom upon the alchemic version's death, have their very existence taken over as the alchemic being resumes the science counterpart's life, adapting their roles in society, inheriting their memories, all the while walking amongst all as if this counterpart was merely a carrier waiting for the alchemic version to rightfully take their place as them. Fuck reincarnation.

That's probably where it originated from .. reincarnation is told in the sense that one comes to an acknowledgement of one holding memories or being someone they aren't or no longer are in a "past life". They acknowledge that they were somebody because doesn't that just sound more sane that vocally saying "I am so and so and my world was entirely different than this one .. please, let me go back ... there I was somebody." Let's just skip right past that and have the reincarnated being nod their heads and say yes, "I am somebody in a parallel world and no, this body is merely one that belongs to the personality you knew here, yet it is rightfully mine. But to not discomfort you or alienate my current self, I will walk amongst you as the one you knew and portray and carry on a facade of what you want me to be."

Now, might we jump ahead and go with the assumption that once the body of the one you resumed is now wasted, you die in that life and cross the Gate and resume back into the placement of your "original" body that died in this alchemic world and start your life here anew. This is all possible with the Philosopher's Stone, after all. One can live on for centuries carrying on the decaying flesh that assumed the body you now reside in for the law of equivalent exchange that is so holy states that something of equal value must be lost for the same to be obtained.

-body stays in Gate, mind and soul crosses over only until you die once more in the alchemic world. Then all three components cross over and you are stuck in the scientific world.

-Now we know why Hoenheim has always been so emo .. he had to leave the Elrics because his body was decaying. He left Dante because she was a bitch. And now he can’t leave the second world of science that he was forced to cross over the Gate in due to the bitch who is Dante whom killed him and shipped all 3 components over and now he’s stuck in the maytr world with the knowledge that death in the world he has been forced into lets his home world exist and that he can’t cross over to the other side to express this to anyone and even if he did, how would he tell them that they walk on the bridges provided by the alchemy that bears the weight of thousands of deaths? Besides himself, Dante and Edward, and possibly select homunculi and Alphonse, no one knows and that it will stay.

dude. if envy was hoenheim's first son/homunculi, then that makes envy edward and alphonse's 4 century old half-brother. hoenheim + dante = envy. child died prematurely due to mercury poisoning. envy was essentially replaced by edward as hoenheim's light.

Ishvalans = Gypsies

Amestoris = Germany

Edward was born in 1898 and by the time the movie came about, it was WWII, so that was about 1912. one day, when you aren't such a lazy bum, research for a timeline of all ages and activities on the series (anime/manga alike). February 1910 is when the anime series first starts off and the boys try to transmute their mother; Ed = 10, AL =? keep on overlooking this too, but if Mustang hadn't called Al off from joining the military, he would've been the youngest state alchemist,(the fact that he's a suit of armor would be called into question for human transmutation) not Ed; AL was the only one to finish the entire test as well.

The nickname "Fullmetal" for Ed was actually a misinterpreted or a perhaps purposefully confusing name place upon him. "Fullmetal" refers to one being stubborn, so his dubbing is being a stubborn alchemist (Fullmetal Alchemist) when it is assumed that the name either refers to his state of metal limbs or his brother, who is in fact a full suit of metal.

Paracelsus = Philip von Hoenheim is most likely Hoenheim of Light's (alchemic Almestris' version) RL version . It seems that the man Hoenheim is based off of (read in wikipedia) pioneered the use of chemicals and minerals in medicine (as he was a physicist), as well as human experimentation (parallel to alchemic human transmutation). The dude was active around 1520s, which draws up to the fact that FMA's Hoenheim was stated to be 400. RL referred to as Paracelsus; in manga: Van Hoenheim, Theophrastus Bombastus Van Hoenheim, Hohemheim

the uroborus tattoo, one that distinguishes the homunculi. it is the effective symbol of the snake/dragon that's eating its own tale and engulfs the centered star of david. i saw a dragon because it adorns two wings, when in all likeliness it is a snake. often remarked as a "serpent that devours its own tail". fuehrer bradley/pride--located on his left eye; on greed--the back of his left hand; envy--upper left thigh; lust--centered on the upper chest, almost in line with the collerbone; gluttony--centered, tongue; sloth--top, near the back of the left shoulder

what lovely differences anime vs. manga brings up:

-unlike how in the anime, in the manga, sloth is not the elric's mother, but a male homunculus.

-king bradley is not pride, but wrath

-the homunculi have nicknames for themselves: "wrath of anger"-bradley, "ultimate lance"-lust, "ultimate shield"-greed, "monster envy"-envy

-envy's a male, despite the skirt, you biggotist license dubbers

-there's a man the homunculi call "father". he has a beard, but i'm willing to disregard that for hsi personality does not match hoenheim, who would be a suitful person to insert here as the father for dante is the "mother"

-a girl name May Chen (or Lung Mei), from the city of Shin, uses linked knives to mark a transmutation circle and is a very young alchemist. Mei is also looking for a philospher's stone for the same reason Ling is--17th princess/daughter, successor to the chan clan and possibly the throne

-a male named Rin Yao (or Ling Yao), also trekked from Shin, but is not an alchemist. he came to research "retanjutsu" which is east shin's term for alchemy and on a hunt for the philosopher's stone. This prince came packing wih his martial artist subordinates, a female ran fan and an older male fu. uncannily, he is fifteen at the time when ed is just about to turn 16. He's the son of an emperor of xing, a man who has 24 sons and 19 daughters and governs 50+ minor tribes; you see, it works like this--each tribe offers a daugghter for th eman to lay, hence the exhuberant amount of children. His mother was of the Yan clan (that of 500,000+ people) and he is recognized as the twelfth son. because there are so many fighting for th ethrone, as the emperor is on his death bed, there are assainations, so the dude took it upon himself to secure his health by leaving his country and seeking out the philosopher's stone to be immortal. (In RL Xing = China)

-remember when bradley waltzed into central's courtyard after the crimson alchemist's defeat and knifed marla who was inside alphonese? yeah, well let's switch from the courtyard to the devil's nest in dublinth. that shark one where izumi and her husband curtis walzted and they confronted greed when he was looking to hold al hostage? yeah, that's where bradley busted in, cleaned house, trumped greed after proclaiming that was the fiteenth time he had killed him with his dual swords and then knifed marla. ed showed up and cleaned al after amrstrong pulled marla's corpse out. this was at the first quarter of the series, right after hughes' death, v7, ed = 15/16

-alphonse is easily able to transmute without a circle like edward by c33

-mustang is the one to kill lust. this happens in the third laboratory, which seems to be the homunculi's lair (v10c39) When Havoc backed up Mustang in Lust's death, both were injured and in a result, both carry burn scars from where Mustang had to scorch off the blood flow and Havoc's legs became paralyzed.

-it seems that scar killed the rockbells, though mustang takes the blame

-is al's soul really attached to the metal suit? in the anime they say that al is only the al based on memories of him that ed unconsciously created and attached to the suit of al. so essentially, that is al in the way he would have grown up, save for the outward appearance and black holes of memories edward didn't input into him--memories only the true al would know of (toddler age and senses wiped out, personal shit of al's perspective all before the age of 10). in the manga ed sates that it's still possible to reach across the gate and attach his body to al's soul, because the al here is really him and not fragments of what ed created or subconsiously wished upon him. so, anime-created non-soul al in armor/ manga-bonded soul to armor al (v11c44pg20)

-the elric's mother, trisha's decomposed body remains (i.e., the skelton, hair and remains) from the human transmuation the boys did on her at the beginning of the series are nto aligned with her actual body. the remains, once dug up by ed and pinako after hoenheim drops by to make an inquiry, reveal that hair found was black, when trisha is said to have chesnut brown hair. this means that the transmutation of bringing one back to life is simply impossible, and if that is so, the extraction of equivalent exchange was for naught. it was a human/thing they created. there was no connection to her soul or body from the gate, only a birthing of a body from the gate for the price of the boy's matter. they created a being by following the recipe to make up a human through alchemic and sicentific composition. the missing link was the soul. the boys suffered and lost limbs, body and soul for no reason for the inital reasoning was impossible in the first place and the limbs only served as a fee to acccess or go through the gate. ed used his arm to pull al's soul out of the gate

-when the boys did the transmutation they added their blood into the mix, thereby intertwining their souls. meaning that ed's lack of height, extreme food intake and almost comatose-like sleep are because his living contributes to al's body, wherever it may be. in this sense, ed is living for two, meaning if ed dies or is seriously injured so is al. in the gate's presence, there are two gates and al's body sits standing before the second gate. under the premise that ed's mind is somehow linked to al's it's possible for ed to reach al's side as well and retrieve al's body. however, ed goes about and does just this, reaching for al to come with him before the gate closes in on him and it is proven that there is an error in this working--al cannot go with edward even though he could physically step out to touch him, but al tell him he cannot go with him because edward is not his soul. this means that in order to connect al's mind and soul to al's body, ed would have to drag al through the gate, and either pay the toll with something to equal an entire body to the gate or use a vast amount of compressed human enegry (i.e., thousands of collected souls). (al's body is young and has aged past ten in a malnurished way, shows an established personality by actually talking with ed, is naked, skinny, has a long/jutting/untaimed main of hair)

-the homunculi consume the red water or crimson liquid that is the essential philosopher's stone without the contrubution of thousands of lives to complete it right? so here it stands that the red water forms into a stone inside the homunculi, basically stating that as they kill, each homunculi harvests and is creating a separate philosopher's stone inside their very selves.this also coincides with the theory that every person has a chance to unlock the gate as it rests within everyone.

-it's Ishval not Ishbal

-it's Ling who discovers that King Bradley is a homunculus

-Edward was given his first gun from Hawkeye when he, Al, and Ling teamed up against Gluttony and Envy in order for Mustang and co. to escape. This was shrotly after telling Winry to not shoot Scar because her hands are not ones for killing (she delivered Elysia and gave Ed new mechanical limbs). In this sense, he's telling her that she is not meant for killing, yet he is. SO he grasped the gun. He ended up shooting off some rounds inside the expanse of gluttony's fake gate but did not pull the trigger when it came to shooting the trapped sould envy had made his morphed body as

-gluttony can level up. his ribs bust out of his body and are used as elongated spears, which can have varying length at will. in the center of his cavity is an eye, most reminiscent and it may be associated with the gate. this is somehwat of a portal, seeing as how ed could be swallowed and be living inside a vast cavern, yet still living. gigantic cieling, puddling blood, expanding yet inpenatrable dark, air to breath, bones scattered, remenants of clothing still on skeltons, no walls, crumbling building chunks .. all that is the enterior of gluttony's stomach. edward, envy and ling were swallowed by gluttony and envy states that there is no exit (c 51). This is explained in how "father" created gluttony for the sole purpouse of creating a fake door of truth that would be a false gate, a failure at a connecting gate.

-after gluttony swallows that crew and they start fighting amongst themselves, gluttony, as the friendly urging of al on the outside, takes al to his "father" because he doesn't know how to rectify the act if him swalling a sacrifice (ed) and envy. stupid fuck. all stomach no brains, so instead of being all emo about lust's death, though he was angry at roy, he dumbly leads al towards the homunculi's lair, which i am willing to bet is the 3rd laboratory. scar and co. trail them because al is taking care of mei's panda and scar becomes wary. at the entrance of the lair there are carnivorous chimera

-not only is bradley a homunculus, but his whole cabinent/parliament (9-13 men) that are the leading branches of the military government are also aware and support the dude. they hold mustang hostage to be a sacrifice along with the elrics and marco.

-during that time, because the homunculi and bradley's need to keep an eye on all sacrifice's involved, mustang's team is reassigned/relocated/split up: fuery-->southern HQ, 2nd lieutenant breda-->western HQ, warrant officer falman-->northern HQ, 1st lieutenant hawkeye-->central HQ as the fuhere's personal assistant, while ed and al are shadowed by greed/ling

-instead of lust and gluttony being the ones to kill the child, whose death started the ishvallan civil war, it was envy

-envy can level up. he's denser than the other homunculi, despite his short stature. he can turn into a towering beast (c51pg36-37), which is way better than being a simple dragon like in the movie, IMO.

-the north is the next designated section for mass killings, one of the like that xerxes dealt with. in xerxes, what happened there is what happend in the anime's liore, but not here. an array was created and on it, the alchemic symbology explained the sun=soul, moon=energy, and the symbol for body is stone, so the whole mural (church-ish) thing in xerxes is a transmutation circle that was created to be used on day. for more explanations of the symbology of alchemic arrays-->c53pg18+19

--bradley was raised along with dozens of other candidates. they were brought up with the mindsets of being potential candidates and when they came of age (teenagers) they were injected with the liquid that can become the philosopher's stone. it is composed of human souls and "once injected into the blood-stream, it induces a violent reaction from the original soul, trying to take over the body", but more precisely (as explained by envy) the soul is extracted and compressed into a high-energy compound and the mind and body are just leftover scum. the stone broke down and reconstructed bradley's body until he reached a state of survival. the fuhrer could have been anyone that died before or were to follow him. his left eye had rotted away and the emotional feeling he was left with was wrath. he wonders whether his soul is the soul of some person who was sacrificed to make the stone or his own original soul.

-LOL, Ling compares Ed's alchemic clap as a praying gesture to (a) God. this plays upon the symbolism etchings in the whole array idea, ritual sacrifices (of blood, sacrifice, the whole give and take of equivalent exchange for miracles), belief in alchemy

-a man physically identitical to Hohenheim is knon as the humunculi's "father". He's fucking incredible--able to transmute without moving (making a clapping gesture). he can cancel out all achemist' ability to use alchemy for a period of time, yet scar and mei are able to use alchmy for they operate on an alchemical system different from one that ed uses (scar learned the xing's version of alchemy through his ishballan brother and mei originally trecked over from xing, plus there is also the matter that those that come from xing are able to sense whether one has a ki, thereby being able to identify the homunculi, as ling, mei, fu, xio mei and ran fan have demonstrated). the middle of his forehead opens up to reveal and eye which can bleed out philosopher stones.

-due to "father"'s enforcement of the stone into Ling, Ling becomes the next Greed, who's personality is not of the same embodiment as the Greed that preceeded him/it. Later they come to an agreement to share the body for time intervals, as Greed finds Ling's servants useful and they will only follow his orders if he lets Ling field it

-Hawkeye has a fucking array tatooed on her back. it's got a salamander on it and it takes up the expanse of her upper back, nearing at the shoulders. this array shows how an alchemist, if they ever laid their eyes one it, would be able to become another flame alchemist, bending fire to their will.

-Hawkeye's father was Roy Mustang's sensei/mentor/alchemy teacher

-It's confirmed that E+W love each other, but are not going to further the relationship because of all the angst and adventurous ambition

-manga Ed is more mature. yes he's still angry!spazztic, but he handles himself and words with experience and age. it's like, only if you ruffel his feathers does he become a kid. roy is said to have almost the same character/personality as ed.

-xing's alchemy heavily regards the existance of a powder "lungmei" that is in the ground and exists everywhere = technical term for the lines of magnetic force. (in japan it is known as "ryuu no miyaku" or "ryuumyaku")

-the ishvallan war went on for seven years. during that time, all ishvallans, even soldiers of that race, were either killed or detained in lock-up (enrollment in military revoked) due to the military framing it to seem as if the ishvallan alumni were assisting and communicating with the rebellious sector of their people = Fuhrer Order No. 3066 = Ishval Annihilation Campaign = clean-up crew of kimbley, mustang, armstrong and all available alchemists of the military that were put to action with the amplifying aid of the mock philospher stones. reeks of the parallel of when the Japanese were sent to concentration camps for the very same reason.

-the rockbells can be seen in v15c58pg25

-not only is there a miniature array on the entire palm and fingers of roy's hands, but there is a smaller circular array ont he top portion, meaning that he can do alchemy without his gloves and the gloves only serve as a channeling for the specific blaze of fire.

-not only did armstrong leave in the middle of the ishvallan war, but while he was active on the battlefield he helped Ishvallans escape, but they usually ended up being blasted by kimbley anyways.

-kimbley has two circular alchemic arrays on the palms of his hand- one with a sun and the other with a moon in it, which essentially is yin and yang. the triangles inside the circles that house these figures are placed on top of one anothe when clapped and they form a hexagram which represents all four of the basic elements

-scar's brother's arm's array were read as the right arm (now scar's) for deconstruction and the left arm for reconstruction

-Armstrong has an elder sister as well as his younger one. The elder, Major General Olivia Mila Armstrong is in command of north of the north HQ, one who mans the border between Amestris and Drachma.

-the basic alchemic equation for using energy was discovered 350 years ago. where the medical practice of alchemy uses energy from the crust of the earth, the east (xing) uses the entire "flow" of energy, the life of the earth.

-Al Elrics have been known to wear white gloves: Hoenheim--he's a stone, so touching anything relevant to alchemy would cause some serious buisness to go down/activate; Edward--to cover up the fact that one arm is AutoMail; Alphonse--only in the anime, Conqueror of Shamballa-wise, as a memory of Edward for he thought him dead, so he dressed like Ed (red coat, long blond pony-tail, white gloves, black outfit)

-hoenheim left partly because he knew that the whole country of amestris was being turned into an array. it also turns out that hoenheim has souls in his body and recalls their names, meaning he's a man that never forgets his sins. he also was distant with the elrics because he believed himself a monster due to his "immortal" body. in the manga, his body isn't deteriorating because he still has past souls sustaining him. he'll never age, can use alchemy without a circle, is centuries old and couldn't hold his children or even pet them without crying, as he mourned that he would never grow old and die with them, though he wished it. he told trisha he was going to leave, had her promise to wait for him, them came back ten or so years later to find her dead, his house erased and his boys changed and even with their sins, he still cannot find their pains equal to his--he's still the bigger monster / fuck-up. So he shows his distance by not touching ed even though he wished to and commented that ed's just like how he was when he was a teenager. BWAHAHAFUCKYES, DISREGARD THAT EMO SHIT. HE'S DISTANT AND DOESN'T LET OTHERS PHYSICAL TOUCH HIM BECAUSE HE'S A PHILOSOPHER'S STONE AND THE SECOND AN ALCHEMIST TOUCHES THE STONE WHAT HAPPENS? BAD SHIT, YES, (SEEN IN ANIME WHEN AL WAS THE STONE AND HE TOUCHED ED) BECAUSE HE'S A BALL OF UNFATHOMABLE ENRGY AND THE REASON HE WAS ABLE TO BOINK OR TOUCH TRISHA IN THE FIRST PLACE IS BECAUSE SHE WAS NEVER AN ALCHEMIST, MERELY A REGULAR HUMAN. SO DUDE COUDLN'T TOUCH HIS KIDS (WITHOUT GLOVES) AND WHAT NOT BECAUSE THEY HAD NO CONTROL OVER THEIR OWN ALCHEMIC RANGE/POWER.

-teenaged hoenheim turns out to have been a slave that was illiterate, but a cleaning worker. his master used a vast amount of blood for an experiment and the homunculus inside one of the flasks gave him his name. so, the slave went from being number 23 to van hoenheim and the homunculus teaches him knowledge so he began to have power in alchemy. it further tells him that if it left the flask it'd die, so it'd like a body of its own. it ended up being summoned before the king of xerxes when it admitted to knowing the trick to immortality and began to teach the king the secret to eternal life. the king orders canals to be dug and creates an array out of his own country and by the time it was finished hoenheim was aged to the physical status you see him now. the homunculus used the blood that was given to it and opened the gate, leaving hoenheim in the center, as the homunculus intended to keep only he alive, and wiped out everyone else, including the king. hoenheim wakes up and walks among his dead breatherin. (this explains him calling out to the souls as stated in the previous paragraph.) the homunculus appears, having taken on the same features of hoenheim (thus explaining "father") and they are the two left in the coutnry of xerxes. Bottom line: Van Hoenheim is the original Philospher's Stone and he operates based on Xing-ese alchemy).

-wrath's "son" is the original homonculus "pride". pride has control over shadows and can make them bend and have yes appear as if the gate was staring otu at you.

-the stone goes by "heaven's rock", "the great elixir", "the red tincture", "the fifth element". it can be gelatinous, a powder, a stone, liquid

[v20c78] sloth has completed digging the transmutation circle/array meant for the new stone (Amestris=sacrifice)

-'father' homonculus modeled pride after his original black/dark/gate-like (resembles Hellsing's dogs/eyes) because he liked that form, hense his pride in it and the symbolism

[c79]- dude named zapao (kimbleye's sublordinate) pretends to sell-out Scar's/Al's/Winry's/mei's/Marco's whereabouts at an ishvallan useback. envy intercepts the call and is sicced on scar. doctor marco, holy fuck, turns envy into this shrimp/fetus looking thing (8 limbs-four hands, four feet, fingers and toes and all that, two giant fish eyes, a razored mouth of teeth that extend across its stomach, almost to the end of its tail, creating a sort of T of jagged dentistry, eyes remain purple and pupils are still slitted as a cat's). they stick him in a jar and scar is placed in charge of holding him and ends up giving envy over to mei so she can take him to xing/shin. envy convinces her to go back to central. he's able to chnage back if he digests at the very least, a single stone.

[c80pg30-32]bradley has been creating his own army of humans.

So, conscious people stuck in a disobediant body - their heads/arms will be blown off but they'll keep following orders like a zombie

[c83] Ed, Darius and Heinkiel meet up with Lin/Greed (otherwise referred to as Greelin/Greedling). Lin explains that after Greed regained his memories of his past self (the one that got his ass handed to him by Ed), he decided to cut off his ties with the other Homunculus. This is after Greed attacked Bradley, of course. So, Ed offers the newly freed Greed a spot on the Good Side, Greed tells him to fuck off, Ed gives in and decides to tag along with Greed under the pretences that he and his crew will be Greed's lackeys.

       - Olivia subs herself the head of the Armstrong household after beating Alex in a fight.

       - A note travels down a series of acquaintances ultimately from Alphonse and Hoenheim-->Mustang. This message alerts everyone who plays a role on the Good Side that the Gate/alchemic circle engraved around Armestris will be activated in the Spring. ATM, it's snowing=Winter, letting us know that they have 1-3 months left before the showdown, as it has been winter tempered for quite some time now (I'll assume a month has already passed).

"Hmmm… didn’t Izumi say at the end of the series that Ed offered the 5 years of memories up along with himself to get Al back?” Yes, yes she did. What I did with that was expand on the original idea. Thank you episode 51 for cramming 7-some months into 10 minutes"

"He volunteered that he knew Dante had been teaching a new student around the time he’d left us; seems after all those yearshe still kept track of her movements, probably a wise idea. He suspected that the young lady, Izumi Curtis, was supposed to have been the original pawn used to create the Philosopher’s Stone. He told me that Sensei most likely did not end up in Rizembool for us to meet by accident, especially since Dante was the one who had trained Izumi for so long before she’d gone out on her own. Everything Sensei knew, which was everything Dante had wanted her to know, was passed down to us. She had us bred long before we ever showed up in Central. Dad apologized for that.” -HWS (c59)

Alfred Prufrock”, one may need to grasp that the lyrical poet would prefer to speak of love to a woman--if but to thread pride into his meek hubris--yet he does not particularly care to do so. It is meant to be a representation as to what clause the reader accepts: a depiction of the literary era of Modernism, meant to bitterly display modern disillusionment to break one out of the Romantic era of feel-good expectations; a speaker who suggests awareness of his listeners though broad suggestions and passage tenses that leave one, and perhaps the speaker himself, bewildered; or a man who never leaves his room and spends his days imagining his encounters. The speaker’s failing ability to relate on normal terms with other people leads to Prufrock in being satisfied and perhaps even unaware that he spends, for the most part, the duration of the long dialogue that is the make-up of T.S. Eliot’s poem, in Prufrock’s own head. Above all, Thomas Stearns Eliot appoints a socially paralyzed narrator as a figure to represent the common man. J. Alfred Prufrock proves to be far too pathetic to properly represent tragedy and conforms to Eliot’s poetry personas in how they “quake before the world, and their only revenge is to be alert”, even as far as pertaining to the dark epiphany that they must be resigned and accepting of their bleak status’.

In the opening epigraph alone, an allusion to Dante Alighieri’s “Inferno” (Canto 27, lines 61-66), an interlude wherein the speaker feels kinship towards the dialogue dispersed between the characters Count Guido de Montefeltro and Dante takes precedence, providing us with Prufock’s description of an ideal listener. In such, the count conveys an assumed relation with Dante in that they are both damned in the eighth ring of hell. The count feels no obligation to refuse the right to ensnare Dante with information that should never be spoken outside of that realm, even without baited hesitation at the possibility of being the one whom did so out of uncommon idiocy, if ever the listener attained freedom and publically shared the message--for they are both dead, trapped and can be punished no further. In this, Prufrock admits that whoever understands this lyrical poem can only do so if they relate on some level to his halting state of incommunicable pathos, which strikes upon marginal irony as Prufrock cannot bring himself to fully try to reverse the influx of the situation.

Bluntly stated, Prufrock does not hold an overbearingly notable character—his general association with all matters fits more of the mindful embodiment or representation of a group of collected thoughts and people sharing these views. He puts forth a frustrated effort to establish a discourse in his daily life speaks for his failure of even enacting the motions to acquire this menial difference, as he only envisions himself doing so, thus leading to his skewered disassociation regarding bountiful efforts and how it’s presumptuous of him to think of altering his “universe”. He admits to his social paralysis, in how it stems from his natural subjectivization of everything. It is not positively productive that those he has, will and would associate himself with or “meet” in his visions are similarly isolated. The audience captures such a feel at the mentioning of a woman (96-98), as she is imprisoned in her own sphere of isolation, for Prufrock proves incommunicable when anything he drawls would be answered by her stating, “That is not what I meant at all/ That is not it, at all.” This is done in such a hyperbolic fashion, that it is inevitable that it states the ultimately underlying failure of discourse. They are each are impenetrable to one another, as even in another’s presence, Prufrock can rationalize to himself and claim that no one understands him.

The imagery’s structure aligns with the thematic form, as Prufrock’s actions allude to by handling the endlessly idle talk with a negative reaction when he had “bitten off” the matter, he shows he deals with problems by use of metaphors and idioms. We’re supplied images of the universe being squeezed into a ball to counteract the world’s tendency to fall apart (which might lead to it spreading itself out like a yellow fog). The act of rolling towards an overwhelming question, where the question and destination alike remain unclear, still conveys the sense of movement (the universe itself undergoes). Further down the poem Prufrock compares himself to a prophet in where he will “come back to tell you all”. The very act of proclaiming himself as such implies linguistic discourse equal to the physical act of squeezing the universe into a ball.

The furthest an audience can come to identify Prufrock with physical attributes press for one to rely on the painted portrayal of him being a frustrated, hesitant, middle-aged and extremely self-conscious man who can be summed up to being mentally enervated. When he remarks upon himself in an early passage he is carefully composed in his “modest” necktie and firmly mounted collar (42-43). It becomes plainly ironic when he’s immediately decomposed by watching eyes that are assumed to gossip upon his thin limbs and balding head, which is expressed in the enveloping lines that followed. The thinness represents the diminution caused by the rhetoric figures, further encapsulating that Prufrock’s fears have already been accomplished by his own rhetoric. These descriptions can all be expanded as a general following, which many, if they were to describe themselves would fall under even to this current date, which was more than likely an aim Eliot accomplished—an association with the audience, one that trespassed time’s banter.

David Spurr wrote quite adeptly on the poem, and fleshed out one of the passages in this quote (75-80): “A return to images of distension and distracting sensuality provokes a final impulse toward violent imposition of the will—‘to force the moment to its crisis’—which ends, like previous thoughts of disturbing the universe, in ruthless self-mockery” (Conflicts in Consciousness: T.S. Eliot’s Poetry and Criticism). The decapitation (82) parodies the disconnection of Prufrock’s being and allows him to negatively define himself by stating “I am no prophet”. Prufrock further emblazes his miserable social position by alluding to the echo of Shakespeare, “No! I am not Prince Hamlet, nor was I meant to be” (111), defining himself as yet another comparison to the sensitive and procrastinating hero who is slightly like Prufrock in how they are crippled by indecisiveness. (Prufrock’s support of the idea was the play upon the infamous line “to be or not to be”, where he laid “nor was meant to be” as its tail.) What follows in the next line “Am an attendant lord, one that will do,” Prufrock implies his possession of an inferiority complex—for he will never be a main character with a purpose like Hamlet, but rather a side character portrayed as an old, solitary fool. Of course this jubilantly tilts into the line “Almost, at times, the Fool” (119), which spoke of Prufrock’s foolish mannerism (perhaps an allusion to his gumption in thinking of shifting his daily settings) and speaks in seeming nonsense that transfers over as paradoxical wisdom, for he, as the “Fool”, may very well provide the comic relief with his mere existence broadcasted.

This ties into an underlying form that Eliot laced into his language—an avoidance in accentuating gender envisioning. He relies on fragments and plurals to substitute the presence of powerful poetic representation. With the lone female in a scene nearing the brisk ending of the poem, he profusely uses synecdoches by only relying on the terms “arms”, “skirts” and “eyes”. These were supported with lines like (62): “I have known the arms already, known them all”, where “arms” was the representing synecdoche in an almost blanketing, general sense. Further carried, the poem projects images of a body onto the landscape when Prufrock’s thoughts stray to visualizing his departure from his room; the streets and fog whisper and produce an imitation of perhaps animalistic sensuality as the streets host “muttering retreats/ Of restless nights” (5-6) and as the fog rubs, licks and lingers, as a libidinous person or affectionate pet would do (15-18).

Overall, the prominent characteristics in the work’s language can be argued as the use of refrains or the use of the sonnet formation placed at the conclusion of the poem. They separate from the familiar endings as one would expect from a rhyming sonnet, further highlighting that this is a lyrical poem where Eliot displays the thematic role of fragmented imagery in unnerving detail. With the way Eliot wrote this prose, the reader finds it difficult as to sorting out the central consciousness that is more recognizable than the individual narrator, Prufrock. This is possibly explained by the habit Eliot had of marring the traditional dramatic monologue. This contributes to the underlying beauty of the lyrical form that focuses on Prufrock’s personal experience, and not so much on a constant expansion of a story, allowing Prufrock to conduct an analysis, in part, on the nuances that form him. His failure to master language is not a reflection on the inadequacy of the words themselves, but upon the narrator’s own impotence; as seen in this line: “It is impossible to say just what I mean!” The poem itself is obsessed with nuances in the speech and definitions used, and the admission that he has failed with words cites how he is inarticulate when it comes to expressing his true self. In a short directive to signify his sense of unheroic stature, or at the very least to focus on how he is not even fit to be acknowledged as an anti-hero, he states “I have measured out my life with coffee spoons” (51).

In the identical refrains [(13-14) and (35-36)], we are graced with, “In the room women come and go/ Talking of Michelangelo”. These two limericks can be expressed in two ways: the first speaks of Michelangelo being the center, a man pragmatic and full of enticing energy, and a lone opposition to Prufrock’s character; the second portrayal is a weighted and richer take, citing that Prufrock exists in the present, an eternity that flirts with time in which everything that’s a possibility to occur has already done so. Furthering the use of all the confused tenses relevant to time, leading to speculation on whether certain scenes occurred or were simply imagined by Prufrock as he goes about his monologue, it’s left to interpretation as to whether to speaker ever stepped foot outside of his complacent household and actually did walk the streets to dine with an incompatible female. One is left to speculate as to whether Prufrock was so caught in his imagery or hypothetical memories that the past, present and future coincide with one another, allowing Prufrock to offhandedly comment as if he was able to predict his own future, (Prufrock’s life was at a stalemate as it was), when he mentions his rolled pants and balding spot. It becomes difficult for the reader to pinpoint the direct passages of time and remains one of the prominent concerns and leads that are examined.

Adopting his role in the monologue, he notes that the social reforms of keeping conversation light and the non-allowance of stepping outside of the boxed, amicable company circle to profess love or adoration hold him in check. He repeats “There will be time” at least five times (23-36) and tells himself that he can put off any social approach until he sees fit, as he knows what will occur when he disperses himself into the polite circle. When he tries to speak to the woman earlier alluded to (70), he tries to breathe of affections and words he’s been procrastinating from uttering, but halts as soon as he begins, allowing confusion to spindle in the woman, gleefully lauding Prufrock with the expectations he righteously and rapidly seeks to rationalize in his favor.

While the specific dates cannot be accurately noted, it is documented that “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock” first appeared in the magazine Poetry: A Magazine of Verse in 1915, and in individual book form in 1919, though the poem itself was completed sometime between 1910 and 1911. This was the time of the twentieth-century, where the literary form of Modernism was just peaking through and T.S. Eliot was rapidly gaining recognition. To this day, the fact that this century old poem is researched as a common course material (because anyone is able to identify with it today) proves the timelessness that true literature is able to invoke. This timelessness preserves a flawed being, one that may or may not recognize that he is introverted and is already one among those of a social society. Prufrock is a normal person who cloaks his solitary existence with the polite guidelines naturally friendly ones would have assumed automatically. This further buries his state of mind, and allows him to realistically isolate himself solely by replying with scriptures and not with his natural countenance--he believed others would have found it to be an abnormal ambiguity. Because of such throes, men or women who relate to the embodiment of this character find themselves unable to relate to others whom doctor their words as frequently as J. Alfred Prufrock did, prodding the cycle of social and personal alienation.

Works Citied:

Conflicts in Consciousness: T.S. I'm thinking on incorporating glimpses of the cast of Tsubasa, possibly making it a cross-over. The prompt revolves around Watanuki disappearing, plopping into an alternate dimension (our version of the non-magical, pro-science world) and being treated as if he was insane for acknowledging ghosts. He slowly leans towards questioning his sanity due to the rational implications the medical crew offer . Perhaps I'll work in changes in the spirit world (i.e., war) as the Big Baddies wish to possess him. Everyone has forgotten of his existence, save for Watanuki's BFFs.

I.

It had started with Ichihara Yuuko acknowledging that Watanuki Kimihiro’s prosperous future was no longer at the behest of her hands.

II.

When Doumeki Shizuka came to inquire as to why this situation was out of her grasp when she had proven herself to be the connecting vector to all pathways, no matter what the layering of spiritual propaganda, the Mistress of Dimensions conveyed that even she did not hold thrall over all spiritual forms when it came to the possession of one of the Watanuki bloodline.

III.

Doumeki once recalled Yuuko stating that Watanuki’s mere eye held premise enough to subdue hierarchical king spirits into submission. Of course, if such a lowly spirit or one seeking a powerful position were to acquire Kimihiro, it would not seem outrageous to withhold such prized information in order to attain the wealthy cache he had to offer. So Yuuko reasoned that even the spirits that she was able to contact did not have to reply truthfully to her inquiry. They could very well manipulate the situation into striking at Yuuko’s own limits to draw attention away from scrutiny upon their obligatory debt to this revered witch, as many had proceeded to do. Many came to question how could the all-knowing Yuuko-sama not know even the status and location of one of her prided fledglings? Could this not be her fault that she couldn’t keep a tab on her own mock-children?

Therefore Yuuko drew away to retain a stoic view on the proceedings in the catacombs of the spiritual community--for the possession of a one Kimihiro could very well mean an up rise in the spiritual world. At the leaked notion that Watanuki was unclaimed, war would awake in fury and utter a wordless howl of approval from the greedy mouths of thousands of throats. It would turn its gaze on all dimensions for the possession of Watanuki.

IV.

His presence signified the stability of the alternate world that was one among the litter which he unknowingly was coming to hold sway over under the veiled care of a knowing dimensional bender. He would inevitably have to choose whom would claim life and whom would have it vanish from them; he would choose what existed and what remained to be reality--for this dream like, corporal world that he walked now could only hold under his sway for as long as he remained oblivious to his purpose in the demands of the worlds he attached himself to.

This would affect those Watanuki held dear and those he was never aware of, yet Doumeki had no need to act on this as of yet, so Yuuko silently enveloped herself in these thoughts.

V.

As two hands came to wrap around a cup of offered tea--right gripped on the base to tilt, shuddering left hand attempting to guide--Himawari Kunogi came to a conclusion that the silence that had descended had trespassed the limits for unsettling breaths and spoke of what Zashiki Warashi would not allow Ame Warashi to dare to.

"Yuuko-san, does this mean that we'll never find Watanuki-kun?"

No one dared to ask as to whether deciphering his location was within their ability, no matter the emphasized effort.

VI.

No one branched on mentioning how his absence was causing them to forget trace memories of him.

It seemed that in the period that he had failed to rant in their midst, the general public had no recollection of him, if any at all. At a fastidious pace, each week that passed without daily reminders, nuances of what role he specifically enacted were disregarded. His name wasn't existent on roster calls in his previously adorned classrooms, a female student had taken his seat, and an elderly yet childless couple had resided in his solitary house for decades, thereby negating he had ever lived.

VII.

It wasn't until ten months or so ago that while Doumeki and Himawari had gone about eating lunch with each other while shrugging off the sense as to why they were eating with each other in the first place, Himawari had remarked that wasn't it nice now that it was April that Doumeki had this sudden wave of distinct wrongness permute him. The plagued girl had tilted her head in a distracted manner as she noticed the archer drop his chop sticks in his store bought bento and shudder. A few seconds later his eyes gained focus and he picked the tools up to proceed with engulfing the carton as per norm, causing Himawari to capture this as an odd instance as the moment passed by in acception.

After his archery practice had ended that evening, Doumeki found himself passing by a house in his peripheral vision with hesitation as he was walking home. Pausing in his gated step to stand at the premises of an empty lot, he found himself squinting at three faces of gray concrete slabs and deciding that an empty lot was really nothing to ponder.

Turning away from this insistently compelling urge to stand in a trance and simply wait for something, he felt an air disturbance as it snaked across his ankles and exposed neck.

"You felt a pull to these gates, yet did not embroach upon the entrance. Do you know why you dismiss what can not be seen within your stunted realm of vision?" The grave voice spoke of vaguely binding words and Doumeki Shizuka found himself direly needing to answer.

He found himself acknowledging that this cultured voice resonated from the depths of the vacant space which was now a traditional house surrounded by sakura trees and guarded by a panel of gates. Before him stood a woman, back erect, layering of cloth swimming upon the surface of the ground, standing within the wards her palace of crescent moons permeated her with.

Shizuka raised an eyebrow at this peculiar introduction and spoke no admission, for his grandfather had taught him--among a plethora of embedded scriptures--that in any situation, an inclination to never swear to anything was advisable.

"Where is he?"

The tilted question caught him unaware as he was trying to word his exasperation on why he hadn't identified her presence before and as to who she was referring to. He felt bafflement that a lone question could cause such silent dysfunction in his thoughts. He couldn't displace the baited hesitation that thrummed through him, singing with rancorous discourse that the answer was somehow important to him, despite his state of confusion; so he waited patiently to see whether or not the woman would elaborate on her weighted enquiry.

A slight grin that she adorned upon her revelation inflated, her eyes narrowed, and wariness flooded through Doumeki.

"Doumeki-kun, did you not come for the whereabouts of our beloved Watanuki-kun?"

The upturned lips dimmed and the eyes rove over his form, taking in his school's summer uniform and how the afternoon's humid air did nothing to impair the chill that forced shivers Doumeki could not still.

He no less breathed the name in an unintended repeat before it resonated within in him and a ten month account of blurred patches commanded acknowledgement. Flashes of an apron-wearing, cow-licked boy; beguiling mismatched eyes, crudely attuned to whispers of invisible smoke; a stifled peripherary vision of one of Doumeki's own eyes, shared from a mirror that was not his own.

Ten months of impartial days, in where he never exuded nausea over the obnoxious seer. Watanuki had gone alone to handle taloned beasts Doumeki could not see. Was what Doumeki offered--an anchor to this plain, protection, companionship, loyalty--not needed anymore? When had he departed? How much blood had Watanuki shed while Doumeki wasn't at his side ready to barter for his continued existence? How many scars did Watanuki now wear as a sleeve on his arms? How could Duumeki forgive himself for blanketing nearly a year with normalcy?

He had failed him.

Doumeki Shizuka had failed Watanuki Kimihiro.

"Yuuko," Doumeki muttered hoarsely, saying her alias after an insurmountable amount of time, "What do I have to repay for you allowing me to remember him?"

"Recalling him yourself is a transaction of balanced acknowledgement that does not need to be repaid. His memory and the period he impeded your company was one that was lifted from you in order to loosen the binds that grounded him to this world."

"Where is he?"

The lids that shuttered maroon spheres opened in a commanding and sincere manner. As the orbs focused intensely on the boy warring with the sense of dread, she spoke as if whispering to the unfortunates listed on a cenotaph.

"He is now on another plain, one which ignores his theatrics and dampens his creditable ability to warn those that can not see the demons he attracts. He is treated as a man who has no healthy sense of self by that society and their hold on him will sensibly extend to a year, by their law. Where he has been, there is no belief magic, there are few gods, only inane gossip and perplexing notation directed at the persistence of insanity.

Our Watanuki has been far away and the longer he is gone, the less I can gauge whether his lungs will stop gasping for safety."

VIII.

Grunts spilled from his lips in spite of his persistent intent to tear his throat into the rawest form it had ever known. By suppressing his shrieks, he portrayed himself as a bellowing man of insane blunder.

Many noticed the boy feebly aiming to shrink into the corners of the east ward. His flagging flesh was worn in strips, further disrupting the gauze in place and distorting the scars recently inflicted. If the attendants could focus on other matters, they could consider a portion of their work requirements upheld. The staff were advised to agree that the patient had most likely done so to himself when watchful eyes weren't preying upon him. These tenuous guidelines shirked having to associate empathy towards a subject and involved less paper work.

The subject had stated on the matter that no, he had never intentionally administered physical wounds upon himself; they were merely misdirected aims at batting suffocating grey smog away, so there was no need to focus on that potentially worrying nuisance, really. To this, his physician smiled warmly and asked the subject if he would please refrain from exhausting what little strength he had to garner, as his efforts were diminishing their medical and bandaging supplies at a weekly rate.

The bemused physician had ended the meeting by suggesting various strings of trial dosages to intensify the confusion of limb movements. This would be an aid when attendants gathered to subdue him, as the boy has been rebutted for exuding troubling mannerisms. The fledglings assigned to the procession would be understandably grateful.

As examiners deduced that he had managed to re-open the familiar area laced with blackened stitches--a bruised torso that had yet to seal, showing the tell-tale signs of padded bandaging under his abused grey mockery of white scrubs--they whispered in an almost gossiping throng.

Most basking in this section of the asylum were in place for self-mutilation and the grandeur of delusions. His behavior had done nothing to convey otherwise. This lead to contempt and speculation on how this entertainer's positioning was a shame. The boy almost seemed normal when he was able to utter a few words in amiable passing. As his words tripped over themselves as they were shared, he gave forth new material. If anything was applauded and speculated the most, it was the latest creature the boy had confessed to bonelessly cowering from. The psychoanalysis groupies on staff unabashedly took part in mustering interest towards him as they deciphered what the limb descriptions and placements could be perceived as.

Yet the boy holds no ill will towards the intent to mute his seer's sight. They were doing what they were taught was harmonious with the clean framework of humanity. It was their aim to amend the tainted that resided within their premises and he agreed that he was tainted.

So Watanuki prolonged his pain in the captivating institution by resisting their rational ideals. When the worn protection charm among his limited paraphilia was silent to his pleas for protection, his eye fed him slanted images of familiar faces that urged him to resist.

Though he was not aware there were others like him, millions relied on him to bleed trust into his words that the projected visions were real.

IX.

Against the Butterfly Witch's advice, those that stressed the loss of recollection impatiently exchanged words through their familiars. The last vestiges of memories pertaining to the young seer had already begun to fray by the eleventh month of his disappearance and its effects had already begun to imprint upon the human lands. This called attention to all parties and they agreed to scour allied and dangerous compounds alike for the most promising man that their realm had come to briefly cast eyes upon.

Shizuka continued to burden himself with the wealth of ancient kanji his grandfather had graced him with, hidden away in the Doumeki line's subtley maintained shrine.

Kunogi took to evening meetings with Ichihara, in hopes that if anything did appear inside the supernatural councilor's circumference, she would be able to relay it in passing to Doumeki. This was under the guise of evening tea parties with Maru and Moru, carelessly orchestrated for all involved to ignore why they prompted such enthusiasm from one another as a timeless distraction.

It came to be a time when Zashiki Warashi found the resolve to contact Jorougumo once more.

Fortified with the presence of Mugestu and Ame Warashi, Zashiki Warashi set to consult the very being that sought to taint her prized person's soul and damage her own in a selfish blunder driven by greed. The time witch had cautioned seeking help outside of the alloted individuals who aimed for the ladened health of those involved. Yet they had but a month to locate Kimihiro and the witch herself could move no further. Thus the contact with a being who was so predatory that her own pawns numbered in the billions and were among that of the legendary titles Fuuri and Yatagarasu, was felt to be reasonable.

So it came to be that during the social meeting, wherein a hesitant coversation was approached by Zashiki Warashi, which eventually lulled into an impartial interroagtion on Ame Warshi's part, that the rain sprite unintentionally relayed to Jurougumo that Kimihiro was no longer spoken for. An intrigued spider mistress took notice of the red faced sprite, exhausted with the effort of her monologue, the saturated expression of dread the wind vixen was robed in and the wary fox demon immobile, yet tense. Her party seemed to be unaware what threat the message they carried with them, nor how she would now focus on the seer as a collective object.

Maintaining a pensive expression, Jurougumo shared this rumour with her famed servants through hollow virbations that thrummed through silk threads. Obediently, those atune to the call assumed the task of passing the words along, warranting further excitement from the underground spiritual market as it was the great Jurougumo who was inquiring and as to who was involved.

Whispered promises made to selves mounted into a cacaphony of jeering snarls as each heard the mutter of their neighbor. All bid their claim and silently sanctioned another layer of personal vows to maintain or increase their individual status.

It came to be a period when a dually overlapping layer of worlds were flooded with compunding greed enough to rival Jurougumo's, a kingpin leading the swarm of disembodied haste. This impatient niche in the timeline beckoned the daunted Time Scorceress' hand into motion. A grim keeper whom had already foreseen such a call for power.

Displayed was a captured era in where the Mistress of Dimensions recieved the most customers asking for the same wish to be granted. Only those experienced enough suceeded in obtaining a tool, and therefore a chance, at marking a select portion of Watanuki Kimihiro as theirs.

With aplomb apprehension, the contractred mistress assisted 845 beings within the span of four days, nine hours, twenty-two minutes and fifty-four seconds since Ame Warashi and Zashiki Warashi placated themselves before the legion's spider queen, Jurougumo.

An organized war had begun and few could afford the price of travelling to the dimension that the navigator had no verified grasp on; a balance on the precipiece, shouldering violence with inpetitude.

GJ has died hasn't it? After I went to GJ to post some fan fiction I chopped up recently that is so unfinished I shouldn't even be posting it, and found GJ closed for an indeterminate amount of time, I came to the conclusion that I must have unofficially labeled LJ as my personal journal and GJ as my unlocked ‘fic/personal journal. Needless to say, I'm posting a few ‘fic here temporarily. <s>On another note, I dislike this layout intensely and have become intrigued by the crude idiocy of Detroit Metal City.</s>

Fandom: Fullmetal Alchemist
Rating: R
Character(s): Dante, Hoenheim, Edward, Envy, Rose, Pride
Spoilers: Episodes 49-51
Words: 586
A/N: channeling crack!Dante, AMIRITE?

One can live on for centuries enshrouded in the decaying flesh that assumes the body you now reside in--for the law of equivalent exchange that is so holy is upheld by the Gate which dictates that you must offer an equal exchange in its diverse sets of eyes. This is all possible with the Philosopher's Stone's notoriously wary premise, after all.

So your flesh erodes and you cover it up with more garments and start taking to wearing long-sleeved shirts; it works for you as with each body you have the Gate eats up in this world to supply you with sane consciousness in the land you call home, you body-hop and oh look--another sacrificial human to contribute to the stone. This is the way Hoeinheim of Light and Dante moved about for centuries and it suited you for a time until that bastard Hoeinheim decided he wished to settle down and actually watch a few of his children grow up and contribute to their lives for a couple years, despite him having handfuls of children and watching them wither from a distance, leaving you alone to become a caretaker to a fresh bout of monsters he later names Homunculi to raise.

He says that it might help you with the whole process if you think of them as your children.

So you sneer as you rename your first "child" Envy because you can't stand the fact that he would dare leave an impression upon it not only in name and features so that every time that you'd speak its name it would remind you of him. You find it majestic when you learn its sole ability is to shape-shift and you teach it to always wear a mask like its mother and to never show that atrocious face to you again; you recommend it use features that are not identifiable with its past self .. all part of coping with its eternal facade, you say.

You try to banish the dubbing word Homunculi from you and because you can't forget the last thing he said to you, you end up writing the term down in one of those paper books that others now call a journal; a collection of papers that Pride and Envy just happen to come upon centuries later and read to store into the backlog of their soulless bodies in order to identify themselves and pass on to the next ones.

As you prepare to ensnare the body that Hoenheim's son loves, you find it odd that at least his son will love you now. This suits you just as well as if Hoenheim himself came back to call you his pet once more. You find yourself anticipating when he realizes that you have corrupted his bold and talented child's life in the name of bitter revenge and justified jealousy.

As you mull over this you wonder why this family stands distinctly from the slew of others. You question the worth of the woman who bred this bold being that will be so in love with the image that you'll present him with, of his beloved Rose, he won't notice the subtle differences because didn’t it take him ages to piece together your identity in the first place?

So you slip into the skin of the one he wants to sustain him as he looks at you with the same luminous eyes as your Light did when you charmed him--before he grew old of you after centuries of bitter companionship.

Fandom: Naruto
Rating: R
Character(s): 36 - Naruto, Iruka; 19 - Tsunade, Naruto, <strike>barely there </strike>Jiraiya
Words: 666, I kid you not
A/N: Here are some snippets of the Naruto -verse drabbles to fill in the number prompts that I started in a thread months ago. I had been updating it over at GJ and thought it only fair I stuff it here too. Apparently 49, 1 and 32 are up here, so here are 36 and 19.

36. Paradise Lost

Iruka mused to himself when it neared closer to The End, that he was an oasis for Naruto-kun. He knew that every time Naruto-kun boomed "Iruka-sensei!", he knew it was because in the depths of Naruto-kun's subconscious, he acknowledged Iruka's presence as a paradise and he knew how much it would cost him to accept that Iruka was the only one who would even touch or brush by him without flinching anymore.

He found Naruto-kun evolving and getting more jaded as he was introduced to the reality of what Iruka had been vainly trying to keep veiled. Gradually, he came to know and ignore that those few years he had repeatedly failed Naruto--with the full consent of those unmentionable who were wary of having Naruto prowl around Konohagakure--in the exams to keep him at his side, he saw that he was stealthily isolating himself in a way to prepare for what he did have to endure.

Iruka absorbed how easy it was to rationalize how what he offered was more than enough for him. This respite that was bestowed upon Naruto-kun was something he would never fail to be unthankful for.

Iruka was a good person and good people were kind to others; not out of pity of course, because you were kind for the same sensible and plausible reason you could look past that this mere child had killed your family and persists--years after without a hint of shame or audacity to grace those ever expressive baby-blues--to smile at you and expect to be coddled.

Iruka was nice and therefore good because he had an extraordinary sense of self-preservation and was able to block things out easily. So the next time Naruto-kun would invade his class and sit all calm and peaceful like, he could block out the descending grey cloud in his head that whispered for him to leap over and force his thumbnails into the eyes of this squealing, harshly breathing, bane of a monster in the deceiving solidified state of a shadow of a child and watch as the membranes, ruptured vessels, clear liquid and coagulating blood tried to keep up with his train of thought.

But no, nice people didn't imagine that. Good people wouldn't listen to the inner shadows.

So Iruka-sensei taught and patiently paused for the squeals to intensify and berate him.

19. Gamble

Tsunade spoke of a gamble of Naruto defeating even her deliriously drunken state once, and if his effort had proven a bountiful result, he would be dubbed worthy of being recognized as the oh-so-admired Hokage position that Tsunade herself was trying to reject as her fellow Sennin had rebutted passively.

At the time her sentimentality wagered this bet would at least bear productive results for the child and she silently relayed that it was because this precocious ninja upheld a resemblance to those whom had sanctioned niches in her heart, that this chance was being offered. After the little bastard had managed to distract her with hauntingly blunt and ridiculously familiar dialogue, along with nearly assaulting her with that atrociously impaired Rasengan that she knew he was stressing himself to obtain correctly, she concluded that this resemblance disgusted her more so than anything.

Not only was he imprudent and rushing on prideful adrenaline that he should in no way garner , but he was a firm reminder of ghostly deaths that she had yet, herself, to let dissipate. She was one of the remaining Sennin who had not betrayed her sanctioned castle of leaves, an accomplished medic nin who was being offered the prestigious position of having to deal with all the sick fucks whom took advantage of youthfully able bodies and turned children into tools for war because it was an effective tradition, and she was boasting unspoken sentimentality by giving this non-child a chance to prove that this ideal lifestyle could prove that a pubescent twelve year old could butcher another being simply for a challenge.

    <lj:music>"Thank God I'm Pretty" by Emilie Autumn</lj:music>

49. No Going Back

Sakura promised herself to think she and Naruto could never work out. They would end up like one of those couples who try and fail succeeding together, if only for their stubborness.

She was aware of her resentment and 'what if's regarding Sasuke. Her profession, which led her to the becoming the strongest medic nin and second to pillar support (thanks to being Tsunde's disciple), would ultimately wear down her resolve and leave her wondering if she did the wrong thing by settling for the man who had always been at her side, despite how many times she had to bring him or someone close to her back to life, versus the one that always left her behind and never had needed her help.

She knew in the back of her mind before she even proposed they try, that Naruto would work and submit himself to agonize through it. Her inclining resolve and theory would be proven once she questioned if she truly did know him. She'd feel her suspicions confirmed because didn't he once fall in love with the girl whom would hit whatever body part that was exposed to her every time he smiled like an idiot? Even after he completed what he saw as an ingenious prank and others saw as a crudely, pornographic jutsu (which always happened to be explained, when asked, as another technique of His Way of Ninja)?

1. Snake Eyes

Now, she resents that she is only able to keep track of Sasuke’s whereabouts by overhearing wisps of fragmented sentences in the form of words, told in a melancholy tone.

She lightly steps every two months on tree branches overhead the same clearing that takes shinobi towards a main passage out of Konohagakure, where the former Team Seven last spent their time together in their childhoods, aiming to sneak those damn bells off of Kakashi-sensei’s waist; where Shikamaru reclines and stations himself regularly against a great oak tree that provides him with all the shade needed to activate the epitome of limits of his Kagemane no jutsu, while cautiously watching those whom flicker by.

Chouji would meet him when their mission scheduling permitted, if not for the fact that S-class missions could be finished within a period of a week to two months, for the best fights were said to always ended quicker, surrounded by a slew of satisfied bloodlusty eyes.

He has seen her; she’s taken note of it before. His hand would twitch. He’d almost pause in mid-tirade, giving away his discomforature at being appraised from the back, where his eyes couldn’t follow. Then Chouji would comment on who was the last disappointing person he was dealt with the task of barreling over and the second would tick by in acceptance.

She told herself that she only lingered to hear any news that she would monopolize herself in extensive detail to make sure that was all that could be said of, before the fifth Hokage would briskly tell her of this the next time they met. She told herself that she neither needed to hear, nor cared of who the Hebi were currently seeking out and invading. She promised herself that she wouldn’t torture her shattered hopes with news of what Sasuke’s faction was embarking on, for it had been years and she is over this by now.

She did not want to know what else the Mangekyou Sharigan eyes had granted him since he had returned and completed the requirement that his eldest brother and Akatsuki’s halcyon reaper, Itachi Uchiha, set for him. She did not need to know what else Naruto’s martyring sacrifice had brought as a token of splendorous power for Sasuke to wield.

32. Crime

The crime of the century had not come to be known when the village of Konohagakure sacrificed its fourth Hokage and his heir in the name of blood, duty and a conditional destiny, but when the child came out looking pure.

Despite the marring, most complicated seal impacted and adamantly needed, gracing the infant's abdomen, and the marked cheeks, the wails of a "healthy" pre-destined ninja would have been welcomed into the gracefully contrite arms of faithful artisans. Naruto might have passed as an average kunoichi with exceptionally resourceful chakra. Yet many were held at bay from spitting at him or were silenced in remembrance and honor; his blond hair reminding them whose life was traded for his to bear the weighed burden of encompassing the strongest demon known to walk across their empires.

When asked, Kyuubi was said to have commanded eight overlords itself, each ranked in power and most easily recognized by the numbers of tails each held. Thousands of lesser demons flanked under each and these overloads were revered and their areas untouched. This was before the practices of seals created for human cages. This was the time that was revered for ages stretching on and estimated to have been, ironically, the most peaceful era for demons. Not many dared to attempt to overthrow the great powers that would oppose and surely silence ambitious ones and the lands were left free for many to roam the borders and lithely amble on towards plans to conquer another.

Later, through bloodlines, the tales were passed on. Elders were prone to lack their recollecting skills eventually and were then free to consult the scrolls, where ancient languages were passed down and translated for the newer generations to carry on the task of simply memorizing the horrors of malignant beasts.

So soon crossed factions pitied his fate. A confused audience bearing witness to a normal child birthed, which couldn't possibly fathom how the Yondaime's heir could be the immoral human retaining vault who might someday be overcome because he was just too weak. Who would harbor the power of the Nine-Tailed fox's wrath once more.

Young were spilt into a fraction where they couldn't fathom the thought of It walking amongst them and they having to converse with It as a trusted ally, well aware and easily taken in by the elder's words weaved into a spell, foretelling them of an damnation upon them.

His existence was a crime. He deserved to pay for being what was he was and had damn well better not swelter under the boisterous pressure because he was chosen and they had lost their leader because of him. Their precious future. The supposed man that was to lead them into the next era. The man that could crush their future because of who he was and how his endless stamina would never deplete against even their forces alone.

And if it weren't for the gracious markings on his fresh, velvety, baby-soft skin that could easily be skinned with flicks of tools sliding down wrists, and the precious seal on his flush stomach, he'd blend right in.

For looking so human, he was still a demon in disguise under his costume of flesh waiting to strike the moment all felt secure.

He'd destroyed a village when he sucked in a gasp of air in his lungs and proclaimed himself alive, had cursed Konohagakure's honor and birth line.

It was seen to that he was never informed he was once their awaited prince so It would not awaken and rule them. It would not be informed that It was their rightful king as It had and was fated to be again.

So Konohagakure pretended they could not hear the confused child's pleas for someone to just tell him what the fuck was going on as he got older, and eventually he stopped asking. He learned that whatever he had done, he deserved it and Konohagakure could never be happier.

Faintly it was wondered, when It was broken and struggling out from under the weight of their stares and Its duty dragged out from under the pile age of honor and blood, maybe It would be of some use under their command after all.

Such a lovely gift their hero had left them.

I made a post earlier, and you could say that a few lines sparked this drabble spiel. My favored ones are 1 and 32 and I've cross-posted at my GJ. Here are my first attempts at Naruto -versed drabbles. (Though I barely consider them drabbles; there are no word limit restrictions. I suppose they're still drabbles due to the fact that they haven't developed into fleshed-out fics. They're out of order, a few out of fifty, the prompt was orginally for icons, but I ran with them and was inspired nonetheless.)

Life can be portrayed as a thin line of gray matter known as Limbo, between the persuasive darkness of Hell and the glorified light of Heaven, that the afterlife has to offer. In “Downfall”, Vitaly S. Alexius allows us to speculate as to what each side would offer to tempt and coax a soul into their respective realm and how the specifically damned, who feel they are not worthy of salvation, would react. The poem’s theme strives to focus on damned choices offered to tempt those who permit themselves to be tempted for the highlight of a pretentious safety.

In the first stanza and so on, the problem is set in place. During this dark, harvesting season, the protagonist has lost his reason to live. He doesn’t know whether to accept or deny his decision of indecision. Ultimately he reaches the clear and distinct conclusion that his thoughts don’t matter in the wide spectrum of things because “all is lost in a savage, endless tide.” The limbo that he resides in allows him a peek at tomorrow; a way out, be it the path of righteousness or condemnation. At this point, it is reinforced that he doesn’t care about the outcome, but soon confides that he has an inkling for want of freedom.

Though a downward strike towards Hell’s propositional logic is occurring and as a pawn set between acting on Heaven or Hell’s whim, he can’t choose his option. Therefore, he’s seen as internalizing over a perpetual array of warring thoughts. He’s left questioning in the fourth stanza, “is it a choice forced by fate, or a choice to which I myself sway?”

Darkness wants to take over him. Light wants to set him free. Hell simply wishes to win and whispers to its pawn that he should not act on his own because it will give him an easy out like he wishes. Heaven wishes that he would act on his own wishes and yells at him to save himself because there would be more merit granted through his effort. Darkness retorts that the golden cage Light has to offer will only serve to hinder his movement toward his wishes. It promises that if he would listen to it, he’d achieve his metaphorical and physical paradise. Hell speaks of no tricks, no hardships, no pain. One must remember, that in the realm of Darkness, one can lie. Light expresses just this, saying that if he built his world on lies, he’d inevitably loath himself. It explains how this paradise will fall and he won’t see where to go in the darkness. It questions him as to when he faces the final trial, which can be seen as both a judgment and an obstacle in one, what will the judge say to him? Light rationalizes that the lies that Darkness speaks of are “dogma based on the fear of death.” Hell finally counter-measures that the protagonist can say no, or make a pact with it. Hell says it offers salvation and no fear, or deprivation because it has no personal soul, so no price of equivalent exchange will pass as a toll. “Sign here, over there. In the name of pleasure and hope. In the name of revolution, let your path be a gentle slope!” Clearly, Hell says, that all he has to do is sign the pact, for it will make his afterlife easier for him. As you can see it’s a coaxing debate where both sides lock horns as competing rams do, yet Darkness seems to hold the advantage.

He is already accepted by Heaven, thus an angel who has wings, but no soul. That’s why, in the ninth stanza, when Darkness refers to “we”, it is referring to him and Darkness. Because he was confused and lost, which led him to doubt himself, all he had to do was embrace Heaven’s conditions to reach inner peace, yet because Light doesn’t lie and couldn’t guarantee inner peace, he was won over by the darkness. Though Light pressed on to allude that at the moment he was a tree with grounded roots planted, and that Darkness would uproot him and take away everything about the person he was, he ultimately became his own judge and condemned himself. By ignoring the statement from both sides that what was offered was an illusion, he made his clouded decision and chose his own fate.

Darkness’s argument won him over and he signed, making Hell happy that they were going to merge into one. In stanza twelve, lines seventy-nine though eighty-three, we read:

“And so, I enter into the storm of shadows.
As pitch-black as the depths of sea.
Become a mere castaway, amidst the weary crowds.
Consumed by somber, ashen clouds,
With heavens frowning over me.”

The weak are lured in by the premise of the apparent salvation. And because the “Gods” pity these poor, unfortunate souls who feel they are too meagerly weak to go out and making something of themselves on their own, the “Gods” most often grant their wish for a price. One in their position could easily become enraptured by the simple prospect of a granted wish. One could easily bypass the cons that come along with the hypothetical contract. Either they find what they have to offer won’t hinder them for the greater good, (which is an unlikely case because the balancing act of Equivalent Exchange must enact itself), or they don’t realize until it is past the suspended period of limbo in making the decision to retract the offer and their newly exchanged ‘gift’ only serves to remind them of their possibly naïve stupidity. Such things cause one to mope about in their misery, so much so that the previous situation of despair is over-shadowed by the new situation. Of course the dealer to provide these possibilities would have done their best to advice the subscriber in taking a breath and writing their name on the supposed dotted line, to speed business transactioning matters up for a quicker means to salvation.

In this poem, one might envision crowds of the already suffering damned reach and hold onto him. He would shy away in fear and revolt because those restraining offers hold promise of pain. In reality, the crowds of damned may only be holding on to prevent him from moving forward and ending up like them. It is an interesting concept that provides a chance to look at the thought and meaning lying behind the veiled screens. One could be left pondering and criticizing as to how in the poem, one can visualize the uncertain soul leaping out of Hell’s vortex in the ground, yet at the same time looking up toward Heaven as the soul is being sucked down. “A storm of ice and fire, dancing all around with a glee. A ring chrono-storm encapsulating me. Just like a stove turned up to high degree. Tearing up roads, buildings, picking up debris. Into the air it takes me. My wings have turned to blackened ash. The pacifying, freezing fear taking over. My heart is covered in frost. And all I wished, is to be free…” In the visual or mental illustration provided, one could also see a torrential flood washing towards him as he strives towards the enlightened good Heaven provides. The flood perhaps symbolizes the effort the soul creates at the last second, as instructed by Heaven, is damaging itself. Maybe he did it because he made an ill-fated mistake, but he already signed the contract, so that was the oath he was bound to complete. The “storm of ice and fire” could perhaps symbolize Heaven and Hell’s battling torrent of prepositions, and the encapsulating storm that they provide, could easily be distinguished as a lyrical form that explains how he is overcome. The “stove” being “turned up to a high degree” expresses how much this pressures and weighs on him and his conscience. The act of the storm tearing up roads and generally destroying all around it, portrays how it is destroying his world and relieving everything that was already in his mind-set, thus alluding back to how Heaven warned him about how the very essence of what he is would be removed by Hell. His wings turning to blackened ash shows how his once saintly and nearly pure, white wings are crumbling under his decision, representing his fall from Heaven and transformation into a dweller of Hell. And throughout all this, he has enough sanity to focus on the fact that his choice scares him, for this path most certainly doesn’t seem to lead toward his path of freedom that he so desired. As it brings on a new change, he steels his heart and mind for what is to come, thus ending this passage. There is so much potential for contemplation, and suggestions could abound. Lines are clarified and blurred, and the middle ground takes on new meanings as readers follow along with how this person decides where he will serve and whom he will succumb to, as the temptation over-shadows the advice.

WORK CITATIONS AND WEB ADDRESSES:

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/52264664/

I swear that was the shortest essay I have ever written. I liked the poem: very pretty and tragic, but oh so very much pretty. Sad thing is that I'm used to writing essays over a space of nine hours+, spread out over the space of three days. This one took me four hours. And this is also the first piece I've ever based my work upon after reading it once ... I believe I flitted across it a week ago. I had a damn hard time writing in the third point-of-view, and was afraid it would show. But, according to my Lit teacher, I did an adequate job because she gave me 300/300 points. I didn't add in enough quotes to do Alexius's poem justice, so the link is provided above. Go scope out alexiuss @ DevArt. You know she has more to offer and be ganked upon.

In other news, I am in love with the Cody x Astor shipping. I finally got around to picking up Dearly Devoted Dexter by Jeff Lindsay and found that the Showtime adaption T.V. show omitted many scenes, and casted a vague hint toward the Dexter wanting to guide Cody along the Harry Path. If you follow along with the books, you'd find Astor and Cody to be the new generation's Deborah and Dexter. Dex wishes to birth a new monster to keep him company. Fine by me .. I can't wait to see what they have in store in the next release sometime around August; Season 2 of Dexter on Showtime will also appear around that month and pick up very much at the point DDD left off.

Also, the whole Seargant-Doakes-practically-stalking-Dexter thing is clarified much more due to Dex happily explaining how Doakes has a Dark Passenger riding in the backseat of his mind just as surely as Dexter does. A panther to his tiger. It was hinted upon, but surely Showtime hopes to play up on that in the future. I'm glad I got fore-closure regarding that area.

Simply put, either I really miss my Dexter fix, or the book really was that good. I plan on buying the first book as well, because, yes, though T.V.-wise we get the majority of episodes played out through Dex's thoughts, having a whole book dipped into his logical madness is just to damn appealing to pass up. In fact, I prefer it that way because as most say, books are always better.
